Nestled on the edge of Lake Elsie in Gary, South Dakota, Buffalo Ridge Resort and Business Center is a beautifully restored, historic property surrounded by developed oak trees, small town charm, and a rich history dating back to 1872. Buffalo Ridge was once home to South Dakota’s first School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Today, while fully renovated, the property still retains much of its historical appeal, including a unique system of underground tunnels, originally used to allow the blind students to travel from one building to another in inclement weather.

Thanks to our friends at Schaap's RV Traveland of Sioux Falls, we now offer 3, 2011 RV camper units for rent at the Talking Waters Campgroung.

They are brand new, sleep 6 to 8 people, have air conditioning, electrical and gas, water, kitchen and sink, bathroom with shower, Queen Bed, 2 sets of bunks, 2 hide-away beds, and a breakfast nook.

The rental price is $140 per night, and includes the site, utilities, sheets and pillows, and toiletries.

We will be moving the units regularly, depending on lot availability.

This allows folks to enjoy the comforts of modern camping, with out the hassle of having to move the camper. Talking Waters Campground is so beautiful and unique. Lake Elsie has just been stocked with Trout for the season, and Lake Cochrane is just a few miles south of town.

If folks are looking for a nice peaceful get away, I would come up and stay during the week. The campers are really nice, and Gary is just a short drive from Brookings.
